Strand
is situated about 40 minutes drive from the Cape Town city
centre and about 20 minutes drive from Cape Town International
Airport.
The white sand beach of Strand (meaning beach in Afrikaans),
is a water sports magnet. Ideal for sailing, surfing, fishing,
water-skiing, windsurfing, swimming and excellent sunbathing.
The beaches are flanked by a promenade of cafés,
restaurants and shops as well as an entertainment area with
putt-putt, water slide, tidal pool and heated Olympic-sized
swimming pool. Sundays the beachfront comes alive when traders
and crafter's set up a flea market on the Promenade. |
